I would insist on trying BiPAP. This is the standard treatment for adult CSA. It's like CPAP, only it has a different pressure for inhaling than exhaling. The CSA BiPAP's should also be able to sense a cessation of breathing, and "force" her to start breathing again. some BiPAPs are only for OSA and don't have this feature.
