I think you are "right on the money" about getting one with a battery. It would make things very simple for travel. In fact, I think I will get one this month

I have seen people using CPAP on an aircraft before, and that was about 10 years ago. I do think it is possible, but I am not sure. Maybe if there are any electricians they could provide some info on that.
