Can you use 2 humidifiers same time

I have a question about humidifiers for CPAP. I am using a APAP machine, and have a high setting (min. of 15 cms H20). Last night, my humidifier conked out. I was wakened up, and it felt like the Sahara desert in my mouth and throat. I think that the problem is that I am running the humidifier at the highest setting for long periods of time, and it is burning the machine out. I was thinking of getting a cool passover humidifier and adding it onto the humidifier that I already have. If I had 2 humidifiers, maybe
