Posted by Yardley on May 30, 2006 at 08:20:48:The last time I was at the dentist, she was working on an upper molar in the back and because of my small jaw, the position of my head in order to get my mouth open wide enough, and my sleep apnea, my airway kept getting closed up and I had trouble breathing. I have been avoiding going back to the dentist, which is, I know, not a good solution. But now I have a tooth ache on an upper molar (next to where the work was done before)-- the kind of pain that I had years ago on another tooth when I needed a root canal. So I can't avoid anymore--I have to address this.
How do I find a dentist who knows how to work with apnea patients? Do I need general anasthesia and intubation? Help--your advice is needed!
Thanks.
