I don't think being more upright would help--the problem seems worse when she is working on my upper teeth and I have to tilt my head back. I actually think that for working on upper teeth, she should recline me fully.

I had thought about bringing the cpap with me but had been assuming that it would be hard to keep air from leaking into my mouth. But I tried it out--using the cpap and simulating my head/neck position in the dentist chair. It actually seems to work! I can keep the back of my mouth closed and the cpap opens the airway for my nose.

I'm going to try it. I will also bring a neck pillow--maybe that will help, too.
