Posted by Fred on June 02, 2006 at 10:28:33:I've posted before about having pink/red cheeks, similar to windburn. My doc said it's possible that it's early rosacea, but he suspects it's some external problem -- probably my CPAP mask, which is a nasal prong mask with plastic pieces that lie over the red areas. I contacted the manufacturer about this, and they said they had never heard of such a problem before, however perhaps I needed a new mask. I've had mine 1-1/2 years and like it a lot. It still appears brand new, but could there really be some reason to replace it? Could it be causing some irritation to my skin just because it's old? Even though it looks fine? I've tried padding the mask for weeks, and I've tried doing without it for a few days, and that did not seem to make the redness any better. Thanks!
