Posted by leannajoe on June 06, 2006 at 06:22:13:I have an auto c-pap with software that allows me to monitor pressure levels etc. For some time I've used a mask and the auto pap goes between 4-12 during the night reacting to several apneas and hypoapneas. A few months ago, almost on a whim, I started using a mirage nasal pillows system. Remarkably, the software shows that with the nasal pillows the pressure never goes above 4 and, even more remarkably, I have ZERO apneas, sleep apneas, or any airway disturbances. This seems incredible to me. Is it possible the readings are wrong -- I've never read of such a difference in mask/ v pillows, but if this software is accurate the nasal pillows are completeing eliminating the disturbances at 1/3 the pressure. Does anyone have any thoughts or insight on this? Thanks.
