Humidity in mask

Posted by TiredEngineer on June 08, 2006 at 07:21:36:

I'm kind of confused here. My Remstar plus has an active/passive humidifier. When I first got the unit, if I didn't use the humidifier as heated, I would wake up coughing from the dryness. As the weather became more humid, I have cut back on the humidity (as in no water in the humidifier, heat off). I still wake up with condensation in the mask, but my nose and throat are quite dry (not enough to invoke a cough, though).
I have always exhaled a lot of moisture - windows in a car fog around me before anybody else on a cold day.
I am using a Comfort Select mask (a misnomer, but we'll leave that for now.)
I am questioning whether the mask is exhausting properly. There do not appear to be any settings, adjustments or (user) assembly points on the "exhaust elbow", so I'm pretty sure that it is functioning as designed. Should I be looking for something different in a mask?
