I was re-titrated and went from 8(which I'd been at for about 3 years) to 16! Instead I got an autopap. When it was set for the full range 4-20, I took the card to the DME to read the software and it showed lots of apneas, and like you said, it appears that it takes the machine a while to catch up. So the machine was reset, since it looked like I almost never dipped below 10, to a minimum of 10 and the maximum of 20. I have only about 2-6 apneas per night now, and the pressure ranges from a low of 10 to a high of 15 at the most. So I think that's why I would have an autopap - but to hopefully set the range as narrow as possible so the machine is not continually detecting and readjusting. At least, that's what my DME explained to me.
