First of all, you didn’t say whether you have a heated or passive humidifier. You should have a heated one, especially based on your complaints. Second, how much water is used up in the morning? If most of the water is still there, that means that it’s not working very well.
You should use only distilled water, dump the excess in the morning, and dry the entire assembly every morning. Wash the hoses and mask at least weekly. I’ve gotten lax about washing the unit but, based on your complaints, you shouldn’t.
In any case, make sure to blow your nose immediately before putting on the mask.
If you smoke, quit immediately! It may be tough, but it’s not negotiable.
Also, if the problem occurs very early in the evening, you may want to disable the ramp. Remember also that any leaks in the system means that the full pressure is not reaching you.
If none of this solves the problem, see a doctor, preferably the one who put you on CPAP. You may need an adjustment.
