It was one of those things that you do chasing good sleep. You have the machine, people on this forum and on other web sites make you feel like you are doing something wrong so you keep working with the doctor. You go in for the study but can't sleep because of all the danged wires and hardware so the titration is a guess. You are told to work with those settings for a few months. Nothing works so you start over again. Machines back then were antiques by todays standards so the choices were limited. The bipap machines were getting confused by my random breathing, deep and slow for a while then rapid and shallow then repeat. I kept getting out of sync with the machine.

Since I have had the jaw advancement surgery, I dream every night (hadn't for years). I have not woke due to choking which was almost a nightly occurrence (sometimes multiple times nightly). My blood O2 doesn't drop below 92 during sleep. Do I still wake during the night? Yes but due to a few central apneas that range from 7 or 8 to around 15 to 16 dependent on the night. The two sleep studies since the surgery (one at 9 month one at 14 months) show obstructive events are zero.
