Need some help

Posted by Phillies on December 05, 2006 at 15:36:16:

I really need some help with my frustration. My toal number of apnea/hypopneas is 103 and the index is 15. My CPAP machine is set 1t 14 whatever that means. I first tried a regular mask that covered my nose and found my ears popping and could not open my mouth. I was sent back to the office to get a full face mask, I suffered an anxiety attack. (I am being treated for anxiety and depression). The full face mask was confining and when the when the pressure remped up, it began to leak. I went back to the doctor's office yesterday and he said surgery would probably not help however, it would lessen the pressure if I wore the mask but did not recommend it. He said I may want to try nasal pillows. I thought nasal pillows was not for people with moderate to severe apnea. What would you suggest I do. I am really afraid that a new mask just won't help. The doctor told me not everyone can wear them.
