Need to Buy CPAP

Posted by Skeezix on December 06, 2006 at 22:47:19:

My insurance company has removed my DME provider from its in-network list. I've had my F&P HC234 for about 16 months. The DME provider stopped billing Aetna and me after 10 months, but claims it still owns the machine. I am probably going to buy my own, but have a few questions.

1. How does the HC234 rank among its competitors (it has a heated humidifier, ramp-up, and I can select the working elevation)?

2. Is the HC234 regarded as an entry-level or bottom-line heated/humidified CPAP?

3. What other models might I want to consider (AETNA will pay 50% if I buy from an out-of-network provider, but I don'w want to spend more than around $300 to $400 dollars out of my pocket)?

Any insights to my situation are welcome, as are all comments positive and negative.
