I'm just a bit curious...what kind of health plan do you have with Aetna? Can you pick another DME? I know with my health coverage..(and no--plans are not ALL the same), I have a 20% co-pay; I rent for the first 10 months ($15/month), then the machine is mine. Sounds like you might have a similar plan?

Even though they stopped billing you and the insurance company, they may still own the machine. Doubtful, but I don't know the details of your coverage.

I cannot speak from experience, but only from research. You might want to shy away from the M Series from Respironics. It appears that the machine has some design flaws. I have read that complaints are about 10 times the normal complaint ratio. I have used Respironics, F&P, and now ResMed. I can say that all of them still work. F&P was the first, and it still goes strong. I use it as a backup.

Respironics is the next--still a good machine, but was renting before I went onto insurance. Nothing wrong here either.

The ResMed is still out for a verdict. I have only had it a week. So far--everything's fine.

I agree with Bird Watcher, whatever you find that works for you--do it. I would go as far to suggest renting a unit for a month or two to see if that is the one you want. That CAN be expensive though.
