I think that the MSLT score related to how many minutes it takes to fall asleep and if there is any REM sleep. In my case mean sleep latency was calculated at 8.2 minutes, with one REM period. I was told that I needed to show at least two REM naps out of 5 to be considered for narcolepsy. However my blood work was negative. My only suggestion, and I consider myself in the same boat at least to some degree, would be to try to increase your exercise as much as you can tolerate to build up a stronger immune system. I highly recommend a book called "Younger Next Year" It was very inspirational for me. Good luck and keep me posted as to any revelations.
