One thing I have noticed is that irrigating your nose in both sinus directions with saline solution does help to prevent and even lessen the severity of cold or any sinus infection. This has been my experience.

Formula: 1 teaspoon of table salt per litre of water--I used distilled water. Get a nasal irrigator; a baby irrigator will suffice for a syringe. Once or twice a day is all it takes.

I got this remedy from the septoplasty and turbinate reduction I had done in 2001. I later found that the Russians have been doing this for decades to avoid sinus infections.

I also use Oregano oil to battle bacterial infections and boost the immune system. It too has worked this year (fingers-crossed). I am subject to get severe bronchitus infections rather easily. I have been in the presence of infected people (normally I am VERY suseptible) and have had little to no problems. 2-3 drops under the tongue 2-3 times a days depending on how I feel.

No joke! I have been doing the nasal irrigation since 2001 and the Oregano oil since April/May of 2006.

Sleep well and prosper!
