I hope that one day apap will be standard issue.
It is necessary a person inform him or herself on their condition in order to participate in treatment.

Do not let your doc or dme tell you that apap is not covered or requires certificate of medical necessity. IT DOES NOT.
There is only one billing code that covers both APAP and CPAP Find a dme that will help you in this.
Many willalways try to sell you the basic and cheapest machine.

Those who use apap with software can tell ahi, snoring, leaks, and pressure changes during the night to meet your requirements at the time.
CPAP provided none of this and any ideas of the effectiveness of treatment is purely subjective.

If they have a problem, then tell them to set it in cpap mode by setting the upper and lower pressure the same.

It is your health. It is your choice. Do not let them mislead you.
