Many people have posted that they're successful with sleeping more upright, such as in a reclining chair -- pretty much upright -- and that helps until they can get into their sleep study. You might also call the study center/lab and tell them you're willing to be put on a last-minute call list so that if they have a cancellation, they can call you.

You are correct to be concerned, but try not to be scared. You are on your way to a solution. Work on calming yourself when you wake up and don't give in to fear. Fear and panic makes everything worse.
