What should I expect or ask?

Hello to everyone, I am new to this forum and have a lot of questions. I have been through (2) sleep studies in the last month. The first was to determine if I had OSA. The Respritory Therapist informed me that I didn't enter into REM until 6am, so she didn't wake me up until almost 8am (ended up late for work). I thought "that's great I usually get up at 6:15a!!" She went ahead and scheduled another study and said that they could help me with my snoring. I called my doctor for the results of the first study and was informed that I had severe OSA (400 or so "episodes"). When I returned for the second study I was connected to a CPAP machine with a small mask that fit over my nose only. I can't say it was comfortable but I can sleep through anything at anytime haha! The therapist informed me that I had a good percentage of REM and even achieved stage 4. She then told me that my oxygen saturation droped to 89% with the CPAP but had gotten as low as 14% in the first study. Can this be true or are they trying to scare me? From what I've read in other posts, O2 only drops to the 40-60% range??

I realize my apena has been a gradual progression since I was a teenager (mom used to yell at me when I stopped breathing...like I could help it huh). I am now 41 and my wife has finally talked me into getting checked out.

I asked for information about my studies but was told that it was 400 or so pages long, and was not given any alternative. What can or should I ask for? I am supposed to be fitted for a BiPAP, what do I need to know or ask? Also, how do I deal with my group health insurance? Is there certain things I need to do to make sure they help pay?

Sorry for the long post but I'm kind of lost.

Thank you and God Bless
