Bird Watcher, you made a very good point. I just wasn't thinking straight, having a fever of 102 and pneumonia, along with my sleep apnea. I did manage to get my doctor's nurse, who called my doc. He said to use it, unless it was just unbearable. He also said if I stay off the BiPAP and have too many apnea sessions, I'd get so weak I'd have a very hard time getting my strength back, even with antibiotics.

I used it last night, along with a humidifier in the bedroom. Surprisingly, it really helped - I could breathe and get a good night's sleep. In the morning, my cough had cleared up and I feel much better.

Thank you for your concern and my apologies for freaking out and not stopping to think.
