My first titration was at 6 cm, then they said 8 cm worked best 3 months later, then maybe 2 years after that, the pressure needed to be bumped. Then years after that, the doctor said that I should be at around 10, which was too much. I don't wish my case on anyone, but there is a pattern to most people's pressure needs: the pattern is that you will need changes. I gave up after 4 hrs and asked for an auto-adjusting CPAP machine and haven't gone back to straight CPAP since. I never used a sleeping pill during the lab tests. Looking back on that decision to not use a pill, it didn't matter.
