Odd CPAP Pressure Question

Posted by Fred on February 26, 2007 at 05:13:20:

My CPAP pressure was set by my provider (at 11), and there is no apparent way for me to change it myself. Also, I have no need to change it; it seems fine. However, my machine has 3 settings for different altitudes. I'm assuming that is so the CPAP will pump air a little more at higher altitudes where the natural air pressure is less. SO, if I'm at fairly low altitude and at the # 1 setting, and I set it to high altitude (# 3), will that increase the air pressure from the CPAP? Just curious.
