I would make an apt with the financial people or at least have a phone call.

Before you do that, try to learn as much as you can about home based studies.
Except for ruling out exotic and rare disorders, you will find these are totally adequate.
Some docs in some sleep clinics in dealing with people with your financial situation will send a patient him with an APAP for several nights and go from there.
This will not help the Sleep industry, but it will help patients.
The better informed a person is about his/her condition, the better they are able to deal with it.
You may have to go to plan B.
