Allergy-like symptoms are so common when using a CPAP without heated humidity and a small number of us have recommended heated humidifiers so often as the first line of defense the minute anyone posts allergy-type problems that we've come to be known as believers in heated humidification above all else. This isn't true; I know there are many, many problems that cannot be solved with heated humidity; nevertheless, it's a quick and cheap possible solution to a very common problem. Thank you for joining us. I sometimes think I should get one of those heated hoses, but, at the moment, my insulating sleeve works just fine.

And, yes, I know there are many people out there who do very well without added humidity.
