Sleep Apnea? Bizarre Sleep Symptom

Posted by Jarbs on March 08, 2007 at 13:11:08:

I am concerned about my sleeping habits, and according to this site's sleep test, I show signs of sleep apnea. Yet, my symptoms extend beyond. First, a little background.

When I was young, I was known to sleepwalk a lot. I would wake up to find my pillow out on the back porch, or awaken finding myself taking down my curtains in my room. I am now 23 years old, and am still experiencing sleepwalking, but it is different now.

Often times during the night, I wake up and I am scared to death. Sometimes I imagine that an animal is attacking me, or sometimes nothing really substantial at all is happening, but I am scared to death. Sometimes I wake up fully after these instances, and sometimes I remain partially asleep. It seems that these symptoms come and go together... I might have a month without any symptoms, and then a month with them all.

My mother was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea, and my father has been experiencing sleep problems too. I have never woken up refreshed in my life, and I am constantly tired all day. I can fall asleep easily, and upon waking, I fall back asleep quickly.

I hope I have given enough information for someone out there to be able to give some insight. I plan on going to a sleep study center when I graduate from college (funds are too low at the moment). Can anybody help me?
