My sleep tech told me that if the pressure is too high (like higher than you need) then you may end up having a central apnea event(s).

My therory on this is that the pressure of air blowing should be enough to prevent your airway from collapsing but if it is higher than necessary it is blowing air into your lungs and fools your brain (making it think it doesn't need to inhale).
