I completely disagree; you absolutely need to have a sleep study.

As someone who is extremely knowledagable with this disorder and have dealt with it for ten years I can say that you need a sleep study for the doctor to officially diagnose you.

You cannot receive treatment/therapy for your apnea (either surgical or cpap) without a sleep study diagnosing your apnea and also titrating your cpap to the right pressure.
