Also...I just reread your last paragraph. Your situation is identical to one that I have read where the doctor doesn't want to do a tonsilectomy and doesn't agree. GET A SECOND OPINION. Get a third and fourth if you have to -- this is for the benefit of your daughter and her development.

Sleep apnea research is still in it's early stages. We all have to do our research because most doctors don't even know the proper techniques/diagnoses for this disorder.

I have traveled all the way to Stanford Medical Center for multiple surgeries because they are the leading sleep disorders clinic in the world. I have researched sleep apnea for over ten years and have found over and over doctors are NOT always right. Be persistant with this and find another doctor.
