The only other suggestion I can relate...in difficult cases, I have heard it has sometimes been found that the person trying to make CPAP work has too much CO2 washout from a standard CPAP mask. There are such things as non-vented masks, with the vent then being moved down in the hose, closer to the machine. This will increaase the CO2 retension in the mask. These kind of mods, though, should only be tried in a sleep lab under the supervision of the technicians, on the orders of the doctor. Mask vents for any given mask are one washout rate for all persons, which may not suit all people.
