Mask help

Posted by cutillo5 on March 29, 2007 at 06:06:28:

Hello all,

I'm 26 yr old male, with moderate osa. My CPAP machine setting is 10, so it gets quite windy.

On a serious note, i've had my machine for 5-6 months and have had only 2-3 nights where i've slept with the mask on throughout the night in full. I wake up in the morning and my mask is always off my head, blowing around on the side of my bed.

The problem lies in that I do not wake up when i take the mask off, so its difficult to prevent. I've tried sleeping with my arms in my pillowcases, and other things, but it doesnt seem to work.

I'm young and trying to make this work, but i feel like mentally i can not continue to struggle with this darn thing and will give up, so i'm looking for some advice.

Some more background: i have a full face mask (mouth breather) and its not a gel mask, regular respironics mask.

Please someone help.

Desperado...
