You were right.The very low speed fan does turn off automatically after a few hours. I guess my concern comes from the fact that when I go to bed at night nowadays and turn off "the lights" my house looks like the dashboard of an airliner. Everything that plugs in seems to come with a LED telling me it's plugged in.
