Heated CPAP Hose

During a trip to Australia, a colleague of mine purchased an "Aussie" heated CPAP hose for me.
Does anyone know why there are 2 connectors (one male ,one female) on the hose ?
I use a Respironics Remstar auto CPAP. Voltage in my country is 220/240V.
I didn't receive a power supply or instructions for use.
I have tried contacting the manufacturer/supplier but without success.
Can anyone help ?
