Well, no, I don't want to go on a CPAP machine if it's not necessary. I just have the feeling that they are jumping the gun here. Like I said, it's a really long boring story. But I've had symptoms that match narcolepsy for over 10 years...and this is the first time anyone has ever even suggested apnea. As I read this site, yes, I see some symptoms of apnea, but they don't ring nearly as true as the narcolepsy descriptions.
I get the feeling I am being blown off. They see something that might be apnea and it's bam! Go on this very elaborate and expensive machine without even having an appointment with a sleep specialist, only a GP. (Who, by the way, didn't suggest it could be apnea either.)
I just am having doubts that they could actually sort out apnea from just being that darn sick, if they are going to make these really wild leaps. Is it possible to accuratly diagnose apnea through all that static? And even if maybe I have somehow developed apnea, that's NOT all that's going on here and I just don't look forward to the battle.
