The purpose of this routine is to create a rule that is always followed. The mask is not to be removed until one is sitting up or standing up. Hopefully, you can drill this rule into your head so that you don’t remove the mask in your sleep, as it is a violation of these rules.

This is a behavioral therapy. It is not linked to any particular variety of mask. It can even be used with nasal pillows.
