Nocturnal Panic Attacks

Posted by peterparker on May 09, 2007 at 20:42:23:

I've been reading some posts here and thought I'd try something different. I have had for several years an issue where I wake up about an hour after going to sleep in panic (extreme anxiety, fear of dying, rapid heart beat, hot). I take Klonopin which usually works, but I'm wondering if there is another angle to this. I've never had a sleep study done, mainly because I don't think I would be able to sleep in another environment (I fall asleep to TV, sleep with fan next to me).

So, if I can get past that do I go to my general doctor or psych doctor to see about sleep study? Does my issue sound like it might be some kind of known/treatable sleep issue?

Thank you
