Yes, it is not hypnic jerks that we are talking about. However, when I feel these jolting waves of electricity through my head, it does NOT involve twitching or a sudden intake of breath. And it happens when I'm half awake, so it doesn't really wake me from a sound sleep. And again, I had them long before (teenager)I became aware of OSA (fifties). Interesting topic.
