Just Diagnosed with Mild Apnea

Posted by OneTiredMama on May 30, 2007 at 17:28:20:

I just got diagnosed with mild sleep apnea. I barely made the cutoff for an apnea diagosis-they cut off at 5 AHI and I had 5.4 lol. Anyway I got my CPAP machine, a ResMed S8 Compact with a humidifier and Mirage Swift II nasal pillows. I am doing well with the CPAP, I feel a big difference, I feel so well rested in the morning. I love it. My CPAP is set at a pressure of 6.0. I know that's pretty low, but my question is what happens when you change the altitude setting? What effect does that cause on the machine. I live in Colorado at an altitude of @ 5,000 ft and my machine has been adjusted accordingly. I just am curious what happens when the altitude is changed? Does it blow air out harder?
