I had the same problem. After two years os so-so results, I was switched from cpap to bipap but could not stay synced with the machine. I have random breathing patterns which "confuse" the machine...several rapid shallow breaths followed by some very deep slow inhales and exhales. Always random. Switched to autopap and had same results. Switches doctors who did some additional testing and determined the machines induced centrals at a rate about the same as the obstructives they controlled. MMA (bilateral jaw advancement) dropped my obstructives from 60 to essentially 0.
