Yes you're absolutely right - the anatomy of the mouth is different for everyone. Someone's tongue may be too large or uvula, facial structure, BMI, or orthodontists removing bicuspids and pushing teeth back with nowhere for the tongue to go but to choke you, etc. All can contribute to sleep apnea and everyone is individual in what helps their sleep apnea. But, thankfully we live in an era where sleep apnea can be treated. Imagine what it was like in the years prior with no CPAP to rescue you. Sleeping in a sitting position was probably what had to be done and who knows if that even helped.
