New mask and having

very vivid dreams.

Let me back up. I was using the comfort curve and I felt that I was never getting a good fit without leaks. I was tired and sleepy all the time. I am severly hypothyroid so I could never figure out if it is my thyroid meds needing adjustment or my sleep apnea.

I just got the respironics comfortgel and I've been taking naps after work and then going to sleep for another 7 hours during the night. It's been 5 days now and although I feel more rested I still feel the need to sleep a little more than 7 hours (normal). Plus, in the morning I wake up with these vivid dreams and sometimes I'm sweating. I think I'm getting a better seal. My next purchase is going to be one of those cap-type headgear since I can't get the premimum headgear to fit properly.

Anyone had an experience of finally getting better sleep and having vivid dreams? I'm wondering if I'm paying off my sleep debt? I've embarked on a low-carb diet and have lost 35lbs but have a great deal more to go. One of the "take care of me" goals on my list was to make sure that I was using my cpap properly and lose some weight.

Any advise on how to get the most out of cpap would be greatly appreciated.

Chris

I been on cpap for 4 years.
