Need help coping (depression etc.)

Posted by MJ on June 19, 2007 at 15:00:27:

Perhaps this is a strange post. I am the partner of a man who has suffered from a long time misdiagnosis of severe depression. I noticed he stopped breathing at night and together we went to a ear nose throat specialist. we discovered he has Sleep Apnea. Unfortunately now my boyfriend has given up hope of ever getting better. I deel every day with his extreme anxiety and depression. He see a psychiatrist now for many years. I deal with him waking every two hours, with his extreme ups and downs. Dpression and anxiety certainly are horrible side effects of long term undiagnosed apnea. Are there postings in this forum to help spouses coping? I am finding it so very difficult. He gets his CPAP in a few days. I am terrified if it has no immediate effect he will go sucidal.
