There is nothing to be nervous about with this machine. This is a more modern and sophisticated version of the CPAP.

Where your CPAP delivers one pressure, the BiPAP will deliver a lower pressure when you exhale, making it easier to breathe. The pressure will be hiring when you inhale, making sure to clear any obstruction in your throught that would make your breathing stop. The lowered pressure when you exhale means less resistance and this is supposed to be much more comfortable for the patient.

Plus, your doctor may have ordered a BiPAP because I don't think it was available when you first started. If you had your pressure increased per your new sleep study, this may be another reason he opted for this -- so that you are more comfortable.

This is a positive and you should look forward to it.
