4 week Update Somno base of tongue

Posted by Peg on July 03, 2007 at 10:21:47:

It is now four weeks since I've had somnoplasty base of tongue. I have not slept with my CPAP for three nights now. I am dreaming a lot which tells me I am in REM. I feel rested during the day and do not feel I need a nap. I do sleep up on pillows just in case. My tongue is definately smaller and less thick. I can see the back of my throat now. No problems with speech, swallowing, voice sound etc. In fact, food and vitamins that would be hard to swallow are now easy.

I still have PAC's that I developed from the sleep apnea and the reason I chose surgery, even though I am taking a beta blocker and I will be seeing an EP specialist at the end of the month.

I consider this somnoplasty base of tongue nothing short of a blessing in my situation.

The doctor said it takes six weeks to see finals results, I will post another message then.
