From your message I have the impression that your early apnea was in synchronism with events which occur each month. A paper on prevalence of apnea in middle aged adults (Lead author 'Young') reports that about twice am many men have OSA compared with women. I wonder if the sampling procedure allowed for the possibility that sleep apnea varies throughout the woman's period.

It seem reasonable. From my reading ladies can add 3 to 5 pounds from time to time.
