The small tubing will greatly restrict airflow so
the pressure would need some experimenting with.
It's possible that the machine would conclude this was crimped hose or something and shut down. Especially an autopap and some of the newer, smarter units.

Also, you would have to draw a conclusion based on how you felt alone.

Maybe one of the techs here can tell us if there is a lab doing this and what results they've seen.

I don't know if an individual can even buy a nasal cannula without congressional approval or a letter from the Pope.
