Thank you for the responses. All we can do as sleep apnea sufferers is to keep struggling to find the best suited means of alleviating the apneas. I had looked at the non-CPAP forum for reference on dental devices and was surprised with how little mention there was of them. I'll have to go through more of the historical forms. I have also posted a question there. Sandman has also graciously published Question number 12 of mine asking about CPAP vs dental devices. Thank you Sandman.
I know that the dental devices have been limited in there success with preventing severe apneas, but was wounding what the success rate is for those with mild apnea and if the dental devices have improved. I was surprised to find out recently that my insurance is now covering dental devises, with a sleep doctor’s note, they didn’t before. I’m scheduled for a consultation with a dentist that specializes in sleep apnea related dental devises next month and will post my results. I should be well suited for a dental devise as I am not at all over weight and my sleep studies show limited apneas, although it doesn’t feel this way waking up in the morning. What a &*&^% hassle!
Good luck everyone. Keep up the fight.
