Thanks for the responses! I was tentative for weeks about cutting out people my doctor had recommended, but his willingness to let me go my own route primarily, bolstered by your answers, have me on my way again.

I'm curious about one thing--living in Los Angeles the need for a heated humidifier wouldn't seem to be so great. Am I missing an essential fact about this feature?
