22 is not mild at all. You should continue treating your sleep apnea. Mild is 5-15. Moderate is 15-30. Severe is >30. You are moderate.

Dr. Dement the founder of that AHI or RDI scale, and the man who wrote the famous book The Promise of Sleep, says that even people with mild sleep apnea should seek treatment. If you have a chance, please check out what he said in The Promise of Sleep.
