CPAP necessary after jaw surgery?

Posted by jiveonlive on August 06, 2007 at 17:29:47:

recently had a surgery to adjust the positions of the jaw bones...
it supposedly have widened the breathing path...
after the surgery, i took a take-home SAS test, and the result showed four breathing stopping occurences without CPAP (don't know the exat medical term for this)...

before the surgery, the full-blown hospital SAS test showed 22 times witout CPAP

on my CPAP, the data shows around 4 breathing stopping occurences with CPAP..

in summary, 22 times (pre-surgery) without CPAP >>> 4 times (post surgery) without CPAP while 4 times (post surgery) with CPAP

i cannot feel the difference in terms of EDS when i am using CPAP or not using...

so, i am wondering if I should continue with my CPAP....

supposed i need to take a full-blown hospital test again...
