Idle Speculation re Nick Patches

Posted by govinda on August 09, 2007 at 15:30:40:

Back when I was quitting smoking, which is to say three years ago, I sometimes went to sleep with a somewhat 'fresh' nicotene patch on my arm. On the box you're warned that the patches' side effects include 'vivid dreams.' Wow, they weren't kidding. Full plot, character arcs, drama, like Doctor Zhivago every night.

That makes me wonder if nicotene patches aren't doing something to counteract sleep apnea. This is whatcha call very idle speculation, because I'm sure patches could be doing something different entirely. But to get into rem-stage at all two years ago was a completely new experience. Now that I'm using a CPAP and having largely the same kinds of dreams, it makes me want to ask what's going on with the patches.
